Deaf Services

Accessible, inclusive and personalised support.

Deaf, Hard of Hearing & BSL Support

Kingsmere Care provides personalised and accessible support for Deaf, hard-of-hearing and hearing adults, with services designed around each person's individual needs, communication preferences and independence.

Our support can range from ongoing care and community assistance to something as simple as arranging a BSL interpreter for an appointment. You do not need to receive personal care from Kingsmere Care to access our BSL interpreting or community support services.

Our team includes Deaf and hearing professionals, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people feel understood, respected and confident communicating in the way that works best for them.

BSL Interpreting – Face-to-Face or Remote

We can arrange BSL interpreting support both face-to-face and remotely, giving you the flexibility to choose the option that works best for you.

Interpreting support can be arranged for appointments and situations including:

  • GP, hospital and healthcare appointments
  • Dentist and optician appointments
  • Council and housing appointments
  • Employment and workplace meetings
  • Education appointments and meetings
  • Assessments and professional meetings
  • Community services
  • Other important appointments or conversations

Remote interpreting can be provided by video where appropriate, while face-to-face interpreting allows an interpreter to attend with you in person.

Community Support & Everyday Life

Not everyone needs an interpreter or personal care. Sometimes you may simply want someone who understands your communication needs to support you with everyday life.

Our community support can include attending appointments with you, accessing local services, shopping and errands, making arrangements and bookings, supporting communication with organisations, attending social and community activities, companionship and helping you maintain your independence.

Whether it's attending an appointment, joining a social activity or simply having some extra support in the community, the service is shaped around what you want to achieve.

Personalised Care & Additional Support

For people who require additional care, Kingsmere Care can also provide personalised support for a wide range of needs, including learning disabilities, sensory impairments and other support requirements.

Whether support is needed on a long-term, short-term, respite or outreach basis, our approach is centred around the individual and tailored to their circumstances.

Communication Without Barriers

We take the time to understand how each person prefers to communicate, rather than expecting the individual to adapt to us.

Our aim is to help people feel confident, included and in control, whether they're receiving ongoing support, attending an important appointment or simply getting out and enjoying their community.
